PRESENT MINISTRY
Approved as career missionaries to Bulgaria in May 2020, Ken and Jayne Cash are seeking prayer and financial partners for their ministry. The couple anticipates joining Jonathan and Amy in Pleven as they establish a church in that city and reach into surrounding villages. They will help train Bulgarians in the work of the ministry, encourage the existing team, pastor when the missionaries are furlough, and share the Good News with the Bulgarian people.

CONVERSION
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Ken grew up in Columbia City, Indiana. Ken worked in Pastor Bill Smith’s store as a teen. Bill’s influence and testimony led Ken to recognize his need of Jesus as Savior. A novice Christian, Ken attended Free Will Baptist Bible College (now Welch College) where Jonathan Thigpen mentored and encouraged him. Ken graduated with a B.S. in Christian Education.

Jayne, born in Marlinton, West Virginia, grew up outside Charleston and accepted Christ as Savior as a result of the church bus ministry of Loudendale FWB Church. At Vacation Bible School, Jayne accepted Christ when Pastor Burt Hall shared the gospel with the nine-year-old. Jayne followed the Lord’s leading to Bible college in Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated with a B.A. in Bible and English.

Ken and Jayne are both first-generation believers. They met at college and married in 1982.

EARLY MINISTRY
While in college and after, the couple served Woodbine FWB Church in Nashville. Ken worked with the youth and later as associate pastor. Jayne worked with Randall House Publications and then taught at Woodbine Christian Academy. In 1991, the couple moved to Kinston, North Carolina, where they served under Pastor Archie Ratliff at Bethel FWB Church. They credit Archie and his wife Portia with 15 years of modeling, shepherding, and mentoring them in ministry. During 14 years in Kinston, Ken served as youth and administrative pastor while Jayne served Bethel’s Christian school as bookkeeper and teacher.

Over the next 20 years, Ken served as senior pastor in three North Carolina churches: First FWB, Washington; Belvoir FWB, Belvoir; and Trinity FWB, Greenville. Jayne taught and served at two Christian schools: Greenville Christian Academy (2006-2010) and Trinity Christian School (2010-2019).

Over the years, the Cashes have participated in multiple mission trips, both together and separately. Between the two of them, they have ministered in Mexico, Kazakhstan, Ecuador (three times), Canada, and Bulgaria (six times).

CHILDREN
The Cashes have two adult daughters: Rachel and Rebekah. Rachel and her pastor husband Ed serve First FWB in Richmond, Virginia. Rebekah and her husband Jeremy minister at Great Bridge FWB Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. Ken and Jayne’s first grandchild is on the way.
