Kenzie Graybill arrives for ministry and study

On June 16th, Kenzie Graybill, our CMP arrived on a high-speed train from Malaga, Spain where she had spent the first couple of weeks helping out Chris and Tori.  She barely had time to get settled in before she was immersed in Sunday services. She took notes and worked hard to communicate with people in our congregation.  After church, we had a fellowship meal and then she was able to learn more about the town of Alpedrete as we took a prayer walk with some of our fellow believers.

The first full week Kenzie spent with us was filled with preparations for her language studies. We were able to get her a public transportation pass with no hassles at all. (A definite answer to prayer!) Then she went in and met some of her teachers for language school and took her placement test.  She began classes her second week here. Our prayer is that Kenzie will be a light for her classmates from around the world.  Of course, it wasn’t all work and no play. Kenzie also joined our church youth group on their outing to a local theme park to celebrate the end of the school year.

Kenzie had a few exciting adventures heading to language school.  Between broken down buses and confusing Metro stops she got to learn first-hand what navigating a new culture feels like. She kept a positive attitude and learned a lot during her classes.  We could tell she felt much more confident in her language abilities as she spoke with friends and neighbors of ours.  At the end of the month, Kenzie joined our youth group once again for an overnight camping trip in the mountains nearby.  Kenzie has also been a great help in our preparations for our upcoming VBS.  We are thankful God sent her our way this summer and look forward to seeing how these experiences will help Kenzie understand God’s plan for her life.
