Beraca Partnership

IM started and administered a mission hospital in Doropo, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Africa, in the early 1960s. In 1998 IM transitioned the administration of the hospital to a Board under Ivorian Christian leadership. A few years later, the Hospital Board created the NGO Beraca and expanded its humanitarian activities to include community health, protection of children in situations of vulnerability, awareness training of violence against women, and small business loans to create opportunities for families to be self-supporting.

The word “Beraca” (or “Beracah”) comes from the Hebrew language and means “blessing”. In 2 Chronicles 20:26, the people of Judah gave the name “The Valley of Beracah” to a location in appreciation for the Lord having given them the blessing of a victory over the Ammonites and Moabites.

The Doropo Free Will Baptist hospital is located in the northeastern corner of Côte d’Ivoire in an area with a population of approximately 50,000 people. IM maintains a partnership agreement with Beraca in which we help them upgrade their facilities, equipment, and the training of their personnel.
