Are you watching the Olympics this week? Isn’t it awesome to see people and cultures from all around the world coming together? One of our missionaries in France has challenged all of us to look at the events surrounding the Olympics through the eyes of a missionary and with a biblical perspective.

“Since its birth as a country a millennium ago, France has made many valuable contributions to the world, not the least baguettes, cheese, and escargots. However, 235 years ago, the French kicked their (catholic) God out of their country along with the royal family, and for the past two centuries, their society has reflected a more and more godless bent.

Today, only 1% of the French population are true believers in Christ, out of a country of 68 million. That’s only 680,000 people, less than the population of Charlotte, NC.

Is it any wonder that their cultural celebrations mock Christianity and flaunt debauchery??

Why are we surprised when sinners act sinfully??

This is just one more strong reminder that EUROPE NEEDS JESUS.

But how will they hear unless someone tells them? And how can someone tell them, unless they are sent?”
