News Release – Sakamotos Move to Career Status Missionaries in Japan

Antioch, TennesseeOsam and Emily Sakamoto have been approved to transition from missionary interns to career missionaries in Tokyo, Japan.

Osam was raised in the city of Nerima, which is on the outskirts of Tokyo. He has been working with the Hope Alive Church for the last three years. Osam serves as the associate pastor and is currently working toward a Master’s degree at Welch College. Emily joined the Hope Alive team in 2022, where she ministers with English outreach, Bible studies, and social media. They are both passionate about mentioning the Gospel early and often. They were married in December of 2023, and together they are planning to work with Hope Alive Network and their efforts to plant churches among the 99% of people in Japan who still don’t know Jesus.

Osam says, “I have a burden that my country knows who Jesus is. We feel God’s hand moving in our ministry, and we are excited to be a part of it and partner with others so they can be a part of it, too.”

Join us in praying for Osam and Emily as they return to the States in the next few months to share about their future ministry with Hope Alive Network.

IM labors with the Body of Christ to fulfill the Great Commission.
