The New Life Church in Svishtov was the first Free Will Baptist work started in Bulgaria. Begun in 2010, this church has steadily grown over the years. It started in a small apartment living room and subsequently moved to a rented office near the town market. After a few years, the church moved to a building near the center of town which was large enough to accommodate everyone until the winter of 2022 when it became obvious that we needed a larger venue.

After looking at everything available in town we finally found a hotel conference room that we rent for a few hours on Sunday mornings. This is not an ideal solution for several reasons. First, praise God, we are continuing to grow, and we need more room to accommodate everyone who wants to attend. Second, every month we spend several hundred dollars on rent that could instead be reinvested into Kingdom work. Third, having limited time at this temporary facility hinders fellowship and our ability to serve the community.  We do not want these limited facilities to hinder the work of God in Svishtov.

      After scouring every possible building and site in Svishtov, we have come to the conclusion that the only way to have a permanent facility that meets our needs, and the needs of the community, is to build on unoccupied land. We are now making plans for the first new church building in Svishtov since the 1880’s.
