40 DAYS: Today begins the Mission’s 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Today ask God to use the next 40 days to deepen your relationship with Him. Pray that International Missions' board, missionaries, and staff will fully seek God and His will in all decisions. Pray each one will sense a stronger need to be immersed in the Word and do battle in prayer.

MISSION: Jeff Turnbough, field operations director, and his wife Susan are nearing the end of their meetings in Europe. Pray for stamina, health, and strength for both Jeff and Susan. Ask God to give Jeff wisdom in each discussion with Spain’s missionaries and Free Will Baptist pastors. Pray for safety and good connections as they travel from Spain to Nashville, Tennessee, on March 25.

GLOBALLY: Ask God to direct preparations for Easter services in churches around the world. Pray many people who have never been in church will attend Easter events and services, be convicted of sin, convinced of their need of Jesus Christ, and come to faith. Pray those who attend occasionally and “know” the gospel will hear it with new ears and open hearts and commit their lives to Christ.

BULGARIA: Keep praying for Jonathan and Amy Postlewaite as they integrate into ministry while studying the Bulgarian language. Pray for Tim and Lydia Awtrey as they help the Postlewaites during this transition period, guide the Svishtov church, and begin preparing for their stateside assignment scheduled for this summer.

GLOBALLY: Ask God to work through discipleship classes—both one-on-one and group—designed to deepen the roots of faith in young Christians. Pray these men, women, teens, and children representing multiple ethnicities and languages will grow in their understanding of faith in God, knowledge of His Word, and sensitivity to the leading of the Spirit. Praise Him that we will one day join them in honoring Him at the foot of His throne.

JAPAN: Praise God for the evangelistic initiatives of Japanese believers at the Good News Chapel in Tokyo. Pray God will use these Christians to reach their neighbors, friends, and family with the gospel. Pray for the laypeople who preach monthly, the Japanese worship team, and the monthly Bible study taught by Japanese believers. Pray with Ruth McDonald for a “spiritual tsunami” to “wash over Japan for the glory of our Savior.”
