June 7, 2017

Spain: The Alpedrete Church will participate in an outdoor fair, Collado Solidario, to raise money to help provide for the needy people of Collado Mediano, a neighboring town. Ask God to use their participation to build trust and respect in the community. Pray God will be honored and glorified.

Brazil: Pastor John Poole baptized 20 people at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, on Sunday, May 28. Praise God for these believers. Pray they will be “rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith.”

Cuba: Pray for Cuban Lázara Martinez Madan as she prepares to leave for Côte d’Ivoire on June 13. An x-ray and ultrasound technician, Lázara is the first missionary sent out by Cuba’s new FWB cross-cultural missions agency. She will work at the Doropo hospital. Ask God to help her adjust well to the climate, culture, and language changes.

Bulgaria: Pray for Radostin (local believer) and Dalton Alvis (overseas apprentice) as they begin a summer program for preteens in Svishtov, Bulgaria, tomorrow, June 8. Ask God to bless their efforts with many youth attending. Pray they will work well together and bridge the culture and language gap easily. Radostin will preach for the first time this Sunday, June 11, at the Svishtov New Life FWB Church. Ask God to guide his thoughts and words.

Mission Family: Martha Crowson, the mother of missionary Susan (Jeff) Turnbough and former missionary Allan (LaRue) Crowson and grandmother of THP worker Matthew (Brooke), began rejoicing in the presence of her Savior on Saturday, June 3. The funeral was held June 6 in Nashville, Tennessee. Pray for the family as they mourn their loss.

Ramadan: The annual Muslim holy month, Ramadan, began on Saturday, May 27. Ask God to use this time of fasting during the daylight hours to reveal Himself to Muslims. Today’s prayer focus is on the Hui Muslim population of northern China. Living in relative poverty, the Hui feel societal pressure to marry young with large dowries and expensive weddings. Pray these young people will find their value in God’s eyes, come to know Jesus, and celebrate becoming the Bride of Christ.

Spain: The Alpedrete Church anticipates the baptism of seven people on Sunday, June 11. Pray all the family and friends attending will feel welcome and will clearly understand the gospel message.

Bulgaria: Praise God, Tim and Lydia Awtrey have received financial clearance to return to Bulgaria. Ask God to give them strength as they complete their stateside assignment. Pray especially for Yanna as she anticipates remaining in the States to attend college. Tim, Lydia, and Alex plan to return in mid-August. Pray their financial and prayer support will remain strong.

Pray CMP student Rachel Anderson will be a tremendous asset as she serves as an E-TEAM intern in Nashville.

The Hanna Project: Pray for the group of 32 people completing their ministry in Ecuador and returning stateside on Saturday, June 10. The team is serving in four areas: medical ministry in the clinic and jungle villages, providing Vacation Bible School, educational training, and construction. Ask God to guide each step of the way, give safe travel in and from Ecuador, keep everyone healthy, and open eyes and hearts to the needs of the world.
