Across Brazil, God is at work through local FWB churches and the leaders who serve them, expanding beyond their communities to reach more with the Gospel!
During a recent visit to Brazil, Frank Vazquez and Kenneth Eagleton spent time with pastors and church leaders who are eager to see the Gospel reach more people in Brazil. During a three-day pastors’ retreat, approximately 18 pastors gathered alongside pastors’ wives and other church leaders, bringing total attendance to around 30. The retreat expanded beyond pastors to include other leaders, creating more opportunities to learn and plan together.
During the retreat, Frank shared messages from Scripture, while Kenneth gave updates on IM’s work around the world and challenged Brazilian churches to collaborate on ministry projects and take a greater role in missions. The conversations revealed an encouraging shift: church leaders are recognizing the need for more church plants and a stronger commitment to reaching people beyond their own congregations.
Kenneth and Frank saw how that vision is already taking root! They met at least four young men preparing for pastoral ministry or who have answered the call and will soon begin training. These men represent the future of the church in Brazil, and investing in their preparation helps equip them to reach their communities for years to come.
Later, Kenneth and Frank also visited churches, participated in services at three congregations, and visited seven others to meet pastors and see where they serve.
At Monte Alto, a mission work of the Jaboticabal church that launched just four to five months earlier, 93 people attended a service, including eight first-time visitors.
At the Jaboticabal church, approximately 230 people gathered for worship, and eight people were baptized at the end of the service.
Behind these numbers are people hearing the Gospel, churches reaching new communities, and pastors faithfully serving the people God has placed in their care.
Next, we see an example of how biblical resources can encourage believers beyond a single gathering.
Rejane translated Rob Morgan’s book, Whatever Happens, into Portuguese, and it was released in Brazil this month. She has already spoken several times in Brazilian churches about how the book helped her. Her story is helping introduce others to a biblical resource that has encouraged her own faith.
This is why your partnership with IM matters. Your support helps strengthen church leaders, encourage those who answer the call to full-time ministry, and support local churches as they share the Gospel.
In Brazil, pastors are shepherding their congregations, new churches are reaching their communities, and young men are answering God’s call. Thank you for standing with IM and the local leaders who are carrying the Gospel forward. Give to the partnership in Brazil to ensure these pastors and Free Will Baptist churches have the encouragement and support they need to keep advancing the Gospel.
