What does it look like when Jesus reaches someone the world has already written off?
Freddy grew up on the streets of Honduras after his parents abandoned him and his four siblings at age seven. To survive, he sold drugs. He started first grade at 17.
By every measure, his story was supposed to end like the others around him. Of the roughly 40 kids he grew up with, all have since been killed, imprisoned, or lost to addiction.
Freddy is the only one who made it out.
It started with a sermon about love he stumbled across while scrolling his phone. He didn’t understand much of it, but something about a God who loves stopped him. Not long after, he walked into an evangelical church and was welcomed. People helped him learn who Jesus is. In 2024, Freddy was saved and discipled.
Today, Freddy is a machinist living in El Progreso, attending Iglesia del Rey, a Free Will Baptist church. He describes the church as the only family he has ever had.
This is what Jesus did for Freddy. And this is why your prayers matter.
